My name is Bob Roberts, I am a BACP Registered Counsellor and my core practice is as a Person Centred Counsellor. Over my working life as a Counsellor I have come to the conclusion that the most important part of what is called the Therapeutic Relationship is just that – the Relationship between me as the Counsellor and you as the Client.
I see my role as a Counsellor as mostly about being your Cheerleader. Ok so on occasion I might ask you some tough questions; I might ask you to ponder some challenging thoughts; I might ask you if you feel ready to go deeper but I am never going to dictate to you where you should go or what you should do but I will endeavour to be alongside you every step forward and every step backwards.
